Frequently asked questions

Starter or Growth?

Starter gives you 3 websites, 3 team members, 5M events/month, and 3-year retention. Growth gives you 30 websites, 30 team members, 10M events/month, 5-year retention, and priority support. Most solo founders start on Starter and upgrade when they hit the limit.

5M, 10M, or 1M events per month?

Just getting started? 5M is plenty — that is roughly 166,000 pageviews/day. Getting real traction? 10M covers ~333,000/day. High traffic site? 1M covers ~33,000/day. Bots are filtered but still counted toward your limit.

What happens if I go over my event limit?

We keep tracking, but you will need to upgrade to access new data. Your existing data stays available. No data loss, no surprise charges.

Is there a free trial?

Yes — 14 days, no credit card required. You get unlimited sites and 100k events to test the full product. After 14 days, pick a plan to keep tracking. Your data stays.

Does Dashly use cookies?

The default script uses cookies for the most accurate attribution and returning-visitor detection. We also offer a cookieless mode that typically needs no consent banner, but is less accurate over weeks and months. You choose which mode to use. We are honest about the tradeoff.

Do I need to code to use Dashly?

No. Paste one script tag into your site HTML. That is it. If you can edit your site HTML, you can install Dashly. No build step, no npm, no GTM.

Can I export my data?

Yes. Full JSON export of all events, visitors, and revenue — anytime, from the dashboard. No API call needed, no support ticket, no lock-in.

Which payment providers are supported?

Stripe. Connect your Stripe key and Dashly attributes revenue to each visitor. More providers coming.

How does bot filtering work?

We detect GPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot, headless browsers, and common scrapers via user-agent and behavior. Bots are separated, not deleted — you can see them in the Bot Traffic view. They count toward your event limit but are excluded from your human analytics by default.
